Vultures for Gun Rights

"Vultures for Gun Rights" was a happy accident (I LOVE those!) that I discovered when cleaning my linoleum plate for my "Templeton- Eat Locals" print. I keep phone books and grocery circulars in my studio for clean-up. As I was removing excess ink from my vulture lino-cut with a 2016 ballot measure sheet, I was pleased to see how complete the image was and how I liked the effect on newsprint. After a closer look, I realized that it was text for Proposition 63 which requires background checks and places limits on types of firearms and ammunition. When I think of the whole gun rights debacle in this country, I can't help but liken the NRA to vultures, promoting death and feeding on people's insecurities and need to bear arms. Just hug it out, man....
